Columbus shopping center to get new LED video display

Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, will design, manufacture and install a new LED video display for the Easton Gateway shopping destination in Columbus, Ohio, according to a press release from Daktronics. The installation is expected to be completed in September.

The display features 3-in-1 SMD LED technology at an 8-mm line spacing to provide image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility at close viewing distances. Measuring 5 feet high by 10 feet wide, the display will show live and recorded video, graphics and animations, and advertising messages to all who enter, shop and dine at Easton Gateway, the release said.

"Navigating our 300 plus best-in-class shopping, dining and entertainment destinations can be challenging at times, especially if someone is new to Easton," said Jen Peterson, CEO of Easton. "With the addition of this new LED display, coupled with our many maps, directories, Guest Service Desk and Attendants, we believe this will enhance the Easton experience for our 25 million annual visitors."

Located near parking areas, the display will also be used to guide people to available parking and direct them to shops and restaurants of interest within the center.

"This installation will provide Easton Gateway with an outdoor SMD solution for close viewing in their outdoor environment," said Steve Bayer, Daktronics sales representative. "We're looking forward to seeing the completed installation bringing customers to their location and providing them with an additional way to connect with their visitors."
