After the NFL's New England Patriots lost in the AFC Championship game this past weekend, Clear Channel Outdoor-Boston decided it needed to do something to cheer up New England.
CCO Boston had used its digital billboards to engage in some good-natured (maybe?) smack-talk with the Patriots' opponents, but after the tough loss posted this to its Facebook page:
In tough times like these after a big loss, there's really only two things that can possibly cheer you up, New England fans: really cute puppies and kittens! Send us or post a pic of your own cute animal to our page, or tweet us @MassBillboards and we'll post the picture in this template on a digital billboard to help "Cheer Up New England" while we have to bear the next 2 weeks of no football. Please only send pictures of animals (no humans allowed).
And this to its Twitter feed:
There's 2 things that can cheer us up, NE: puppies + kittens. Send your cute pet pic and we'll put it on a billboard!
So far the responses appear to be streaming in, with pictures like this popping up on the company Facebook page:
