We’ve heard it essentially everywhere, “The Great Resignation.” What are companies doing to fill those gaps, and are robotics or AI a complete solution? Can man and machine coexist in this post-COVID world?

In our latest VLOG, “From the Great Resignation to the Rise of Automation,” featuring AOPEN’s Solutions Engineer, Miles Schofield, shares his thoughts on the progression of automation and what considerations are needed to have a successful transition.
I think it’s no surprise at this point that we’ve all heard and seen stories about the job market - millions of people are leaving their current jobs in search of new career paths and opportunities. From a business perspective, productivity and labor costs escalate, and at the same time, competition amongst applicants increases as well.
What Miles talks about in this VLOG are the decisions that businesses face, at least in the US market, and the different areas that one needs to be aware of. From a high level, we will be providing a background of the shift and how those trends impacted our way of life.
There are also different approaches to utilizing artificial intelligence and/or robotics that can either supplement or replace jobs in the workplace as a fully integrated solution. In addition, knowing how to implement change is dependent on how deep the rabbit hole you want to take; the amount of computer/processing power, placement, and physical allotted space dedicated for the transformation.
Lastly, we’ll also address the obstacles and issues that one can encounter. Safety measures, rules, and regulations are also a high priority to ensure that personnel (humans) are confident that the robots won’t “attack” them.
