That is when digital signage stops being a content project and becomes an operations system. The buyer is no longer asking only whether the display looks good on day one. The real question is whether the team can see device health, catch warning signs, update software, and decide when a site visit is actually worth the cost.

For signage buyers, this does not mean turning an RFQ into a security audit. It means asking a few grounded questions early. Can authorized teams update software securely? Are default credentials avoided or changed during commissioning? Are logs available when something unusual happens? Is remote access controlled rather than shared through informal passwords?
These questions protect both sides. They help the buyer understand the operational burden, and they help the vendor define exactly what is included in the support model.
