"The biggest trends are being driven by the impact of new technology," Maras said during the interview. "Technology is happening on many fronts, such as artificial intelligence, biometrics, robotics, virtual reality, augmented reality, voice technology, cloud technology, data analytics,
blockchain, telemetry, social media and mobile payments."

During the interview, Maras also shared insights from the Kiosk Markplace industry census of how end users and vendors are using interactive technology.

"Touchscreens, integration with mobile devices and remote machine management — were cited as among the most promising technologies by
kiosk user organizations, according to our Kiosk Marketplace industry census," Maras said. "These three technologies speak to the expansion of e-commerce and mobile ordering that is boosting retail commerce worldwide."
