Ukrainian company launches waterproof digital touchscreen table

July 27, 2016

Ukraine-based Kodisoft Interactive Restaurant Technology has developed an interactive, digital touchscreen table based on Intel's NUC platform and powered by Intel Core i7 processors, according to a company press release. The company calls the table the Interactive Restaurant Technology Table, or IRT Table.

The table's screen has 4K resolution screen with unlimited points of multi-touch. The surface is a specially treated diamond-level hardness glass. Combined with the reinforced steel body, it makes for a tough table that can withstand the rigors of restaurant life, the release said.

Customers may place orders on the table, reducing dependence on staff. They may pay at the table using built-in credit card readers, which reduces of incidents of dine-and-dash, according to the company. Additionally, customers will be better engaged, entertained and motivated to order more and to return.

The table's backgrounds can be customized, allowing for a change in decor with a few taps. Restaurant owners may entertain customers while they wait, solicit feedback, tie-in with other businesses and control all tables from a centralized tablet-like console.

Kodisoft claims that customers can typically recover their investments on the table in approximately six to 10 months, the release said.
