Power BI for Digital Signage Screens

For the digital signage and kiosk software "FrontFace," mirabyte now offers a plugin for the easy integration of Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports on digital signage info screens and interactive kiosk terminals.

Microsoft's business analysis service "Power BI" is gaining popularity with many companies. It allows business figures and data from a wide variety of data sources to be compiled into attractive reports, dashboards, and analyses. It is also relatively easy to distribute the reports to users or via the intranet. However, things get complicated when Power BI content must be integrated and made available on information screens ("digital signage") or at interactive kiosk systems.

To meet this challenge, mirabyte now offers the Power BI plugin for its digital signage and kiosk software "FrontFace." With this plugin, any Power BI reports and dashboards can be easily integrated into FrontFace playlists or touch menus (also supporting interactivity) and can be combined with other media and content (e.g., images, videos, PDFs, websites, news tickers, etc.).

In addition to a Power BI Pro or Premium account, the operation of the Power BI plugin for FrontFace also requires a so-called "Power BI capacity" on which the data is hosted. FrontFace then accesses this Power BI capacity via a secure internet connection and displays the content as desired.

The digital signage and kiosk software "FrontFace" is an easy to use but very powerful software solution for operating digital signage applications such as info screens, dashboards, shopfloor boards, or digital bulletin boards. But also, interactive systems such as kiosk terminals for employees can be implemented with FrontFace, without requiring any programming knowledge. Another capability that distinguishes FrontFace from other digital signage products is that the software can be operated completely "on-premises," i.e., on site without any dependencies on the manufacturer's online services or servers. Furthermore, it has a license model that does not incur ongoing costs.
