TweetOut Nano integrates social media content for DOOH networks

April 9, 2013

Bannister Lake Software Inc. has released a lightweight, turnkey version of its TweetOut device that will allow broadcasters, cable networks and digital out-of-home network operators to integrate social media content into their programming, the company said.

"We want all of our customers to have access to the rich content available through social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, with the freedom to quickly choose, organize and deploy that content for audience consumption," Bannister Lake President Georg Hentsch said in a news release. "We believe its low price point will give everyone from local broadcast TV stations and small cable stations to schools and digital signage networks the ability to engage their audiences easily and reliably — and at a fraction of the cost of many social media solutions."

According to the company, TweetOut is an advanced social media filter used to engage audiences for live shows, sporting events and special event broadcasts. It allows unlimited searches of Twitter and Facebook and organizes searches into topics for easy management, which lets broadcasters and network operators create collections of sequenced Tweets or Facebook posts, with full control over ordering and moderation.

The BL TweetOut Nano measures four inches by four inches by two inches and comes with 8GB of RAM and a 120GB solid state drive. It will sell for $3,500.
