Coastal Medical, a physician-owned primary care provider in Rhode Island, has opted for Videotel industrial-grade digital media players to provide patient education in its office locations, according to an announcement from Videotel.
Coastal Medical has been a provider of patient-centered healthcare in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts since 1995, growing into the largest physician-owned and physician-governed primary care practice in Rhode Island, the announcement said.
The VP70 industrial Looping Signage Media Player from Videotel allows clients such as Coastal Medical to present a continuous stream of video playback in their waiting rooms. In this setting, the media player is used to provide patients with informational and educational videos, making the waiting room an opportunity for patients to learn about Coastal services, the company said.
"The players are connected to televisions in the waiting rooms of our or primary care practices," said Laura Theisen from Marketing Communications at Coastal Medical. "The content is used for patient education and to reinforce the messages they get from their care team."
