Pennsylvania airport to offer self-service options, new digital signage displays

As part of its deal renewal with airport marketing company Clear Channel Airports, Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania will soon have a variety of state-of-the art advertising displays, according to a company press release from CCA.

Specifically, CCA will replace existing edge-lit signs with the energy-efficient LED displays, and pay-phone structures with computer charging stations that come with tension fabric displays in all three of Harrisburg International Airport's concourses. CCA will also be installing eight 52-inch LCD screens in the baggage claim area, which will house a DSC3 interactive digital touchscreen. Additionally, the main security checkpoint will receive a 46-inch LCD sign to update passengers with airport information

The airport also offers FLYsmart, CCA's free location-based mobile app that allows travelers to quickly locate services in terminals, as well as browse live feeds of arrival and departure information, Timothy Edwards A.A.E executive director, Harrisburg International Airport, said in the release.

"Harrisburg International Airport is one of the prime advertising locations within the state capital, and the enhancement of the CCA displays will provide businesses with even more imaginative and engaging ways to connect with their target audience," he said.

The airport serves more than 1.3 million passengers annually, and CCA will enable area businesses to communicate the vitality of the region and market to a captive, upscale travel audience via its new advertising displays, David Lorenzo, project sales manager, Clear Channel Airports, said in the release.

"The demographic profile of Harrisburg International Airport is unique. Reflecting its location within the state capital, the airport serves a diverse population of government leaders and Central Pennsylvania business travelers, and we are thrilled to introduce our newest and most innovative advertising platforms to this audience segment," he said. "With the newly extended contract, our roster of existing clients will now be able to plan their budgets early and fully reap the benefits of the enhanced displays."
