Origin Display enhances 'Elite' digital signage solution
April 28, 2013
Origin Display Group Inc., a supplier of indoor, outdoor and digital menu boards, has announced enhancements to its "Origin Elite" digital signage solution that are intended to make it more user-friendly.
Changes include:
- A cleaner user interface: Overall system navigation has been streamlined, with the most commonly used features more identifiable.
- Instant interrupt: For emergency messaging or instantaneous store promotions.
- Greater design capabilities: Drawing, effect and style tools have been added.
- Custom Widget Creation: Users can create widgets that duplicate actions with one stroke.
- Expanded template library: New design templates in portrait and landscape modes; templates have been expanded to verticals beyond the food-focused templates.
- Media library: New borders, backgrounds, ornaments and shapes are available to decorate content.
- XML Widget/Sync POS to menu: With the XML widget, uses can now integrate digital signage with their POS system without the cost of custom programming.
- Touchscreen capable: New touchscreen capabilities lend themselves to kiosk-type scenarios.
In a news release, Origin Displays' Partner Mike Lella said the changes have been months in the making, and that users should not worry about adapting to a new solution. "From day one, the evolution of this program has had the end user in mind," he said. "With this phase complete, it is clear that the requests for additions have been answered, all the while catering to both the owner-operator types and multi-unit folks in terms of functionality."
The updates will available free to current Origin clients and will be a part of new client licenses moving forward, the company said. Pricing is unchanged.
