Omnivex, DST hosting webinar on engaging today's college student with digital signage

April 17, 2013

Digital Signage Today and Omnivex Corp. are presenting a free, one-hour webinar next week looking at using digital signage to engage with college students, "Creating Real-Time Interactions with Digital Signage in Higher Education."

The webinar will examine how the challenge of engaging and interacting with a generation of students raised surrounded by media is driving significant change amongst colleges and universities. Students today expect and prefer digital communications, and as a result digital signage has become a cost-effective tool for schools to utilize. Dynamic digital signage is enabling colleges and universities to improve communications ranging from emergency notifications to wayfinding to events and employee communications.

In next week's webinar, attendees will learn how colleges and universities can utilize digital signage to cost effectively communicate in real-time with students, staff and visitors; the multitude of ways schools can use digital signage within an institution, including emergency notifications, wayfinding, donor walls, events, directories, and employee and student communications; best practices and innovative examples from colleges and universities already utilizing digital signage; and key considerations for a higher-ed project in the areas of cost, support, hardware and content management.

The webinar, scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern on April 25, will feature speakers Jeff Collard, the president of Omnivex Corp., and Byron Tarry, the director of strategic business development for Sharp's Audio Visual, where he is responsible for the Sharp's Digital Signage practice and a digital signage customer base of numerous educational institutions across Canada.
