The Metropolitan Transportation Authority plans to deploy around 37,000 displays in its subway system in New York City over the next five years. Outfront will install the displays and expects the MTA will earn $117 million in revenue from the advertisements, according to a report by NY Daily News.
In addition to advertisements, the MTA will also showcase daytime and nighttime subway maps as well as train arrival times and station specific information.
The MTA has already deployed 1,200 displays in subways, and is testing the newer displays on the number seven line, according to the report.
