MediaTile, MarketStar launch HumanKiosk pilot program (Video)

April 10, 2011

Cloud-based digital signage solutions firm MediaTile and field, voice and digital sales and marketing agency MarketStar today announced that the companies are now offering HumanKiosk pilot programs for brands to test market a new approach in consumer engagement.

The HumanKiosk delivers personal, face-to-face service via a connected digital signage kiosk, augmenting traditional human staffing with lower cost-per-touch, virtual alternatives, the companies said. The pilot program is available immediately and is aimed at companies wanting to provide a personal presence across a number of geographically dispersed venues.

The kiosk leverages advanced 4G networks from Sprint and Verizon to make OnCall Experts (on-demand video attendants) available for live, two-way, face-to-face conversations in multiple languages at the touch of a button.

MediaTile's HumanKiosk, powered by the MediaCast Video Presence system and 4G networks, is an all-in-one, free-standing interactive digital signage solution. The MediaCast Video Presence system is a cloud-based management platform that runs pre-scheduled, interactive digital merchandising promotions while also providing a live, two-way video session between a consumer in the store with a question, and a representative of that product or service.

The joint program, which will see the kiosks "staffed" by MarketStar OnCall Experts, will enable brands to live test this cloud-based customer service solution with their own products and services in their retail venues.

The companies are demonstrating the solution at NAB 2011 in Las Vegas this week, in the Verizon Wireless booth. For more information visit www.mediatile.com/humankiosk.

"MediaTile's HumanKiosk has the potential to revolutionize customer service and engagement," MarketStar President and CEO Dave Treadway said in the announcement. "With OnCall Experts personally available at the touch of a button from anywhere, we now have the ability to provide experts in more locations, on demand, significantly lowering the cost of each customer interaction. The HumanKiosk is an extension to our current offerings as it enables us to cover our clients' secondary and remote markets with an equivalent level of personal service and expert knowledge with the addition of multi-language support."

HumanKiosk pilot programs are now available for customers, brands and other solution providers; general product availability will be in the second half of this year.
