Hyatt Regency Chicago makes NEC displays guests of honor

Chicago's largest hotel uses digital signage to communicate with guests.

Hyatt Regency Chicago is the city's largest hotel in both number of rooms and square footage and the largest Hyatt property in the world. The hotel hosts 180 large conventions, 430 small convention/meetings and an additional 1000 social functions each year, totaling more than one million guests annually.

Generally guests are visiting for a business meeting and are unfamiliar with the hotel layout. Traditional forms of directional information such as easels and printed signage were being used throughout the Hyatt, however, this method was found to be extremely time-consuming to produce and still required hotel management to usher people to their meeting rooms.

With the expenses of static, one-time-use signage adding up and the need for management to handle other priorities within the hotel, Hyatt management determined that they needed a way to communicate vital guest information at the last minute with the flexibility of providing updates.
