AOPEN's eTILE and Digital Engine DE3250 have been certified by digital signage software company Grassfish, according to a press release from AOPEN. AOPEN specializes in small form factor computing and touch display technology for digital signage, kiosks and point-of-sale systems. Grassfish is a European provider of digital signage software with a focus on digital solutions for retail, automotive and banking. The certification from Grassfish is specifically for the DE3250 when the software is running on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04.4) and the eTILE running on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB.
"As a value added manufacturer of hardware, AOPEN truly understands the value of a good compatibility between the hardware and the software," said Jack Chou, general manager of AOPEN Europe. "It's the key to a successful implementation. We always look for the best partners, such as Grassfish, to improve our products and implementation possibilities via the software partner. This also helps us to improve our product line. Since we are the manufacturer we need to stay on top of the changing elements in the dynamic digital market."
The Digital Engine DE3250 is a media player designed for rugged, tough environments or moving vehicles. Its ultra-thin structure allows integration into any space, the release said. The solid-state disk and fanless design of the DE3250 ensures good performance in challenging situations.
The eTILE is an ultra-thin, multi-touch display. It is designed for commercial retail use and will improve the engagement between a customer and a brand, the release said.
"We put the DE3250 and the AOPEN eTILE through a rigorous testing and validation process to provide our customers with a solid, easy to use and certified solution," said Robert Duchac, partner development manager at Grassfish. "The Digital Engine DE3250 and the eTILE all-in-one touch displays proved to be a great match with the Grassfish software."
AOPEN is an Acer Group company that specializes in small form factor commercial, medical, and industrial computing, as well as touch display technology for digital signage, kiosks and POS solutions as a leading global hardware manufacturer.
