ROANOKE, Va. — IntelliMat Inc. announced a new partnership with C&N Sports Group, a Roanoke, Va.-based performance and athletic apparel distributor to the collegiate retail market. Through the two-year agreement, C&N Sports will sell the digital floor displays to approximately 750 collegiate bookstores across the nation.
The IntelliMat is a wireless computer embedded in a thin mat made of a lightweight thermoplastic alloy with four LCD screens, creating a 30-inch diagonal display with full multi-media capability. The video display can be seen clearly from more than 10 feet away.
C&N Sports president and chief executive Russell Gaddy said he became familiar with the IntelliMat during a recent pilot program at Virginia Tech's University Bookstore. The more he learned about the patented display, the more he wanted to be a part of the marketing effort.
C&N Sports will receive a portion of the proceeds from each mat sold. Mat advertising is also likely to benefit C&N Sports, since ads for the company's sports apparel will rotate on the mat.
