LAS VEGAS — Scala, a provider of end-to-end solutions for the digital signage market, has announced that it has agreed to acquire Market Information Services of Canada Inc. and Market Information Services of America. The announcement was made at the Digital Signage Expo inLas Vegas.
Once integrated, the new product line will provide a complete Advertising Campaign Management Solution that allows advertising campaigns to span digital, static and mobile advertising, all managed by a single system.
"This strategic acquisition brings Scala the opportunity to become the leader in business management solutions for the out-of-home advertising industry, which is growing at a phenomenal rate, second only to the internet," said Scala's CEO Gerard Bucas.
Scala will integrateCharting Pro software into its line of products. The software manages different forms of media and provides demographic and geographic characteristics for targeted campaigns and coordinated brand promotions. This acquired technology will allow Scala customers to manage digital signage advertising as well as other out-of-home advertising properties, from traditional static outdoor billboards to retail ad space and mobile advertising. Scala's new offering will be targeted to those involved in inventory management, customer relations, operations, and content management and delivery.
"The synergies of Scala's InfoChannel, and MISC's Charting Pro suite of enterprise software and measurement technology, means a complete tool set for the management of all advertising platforms - from billboards, static, digital and mobile right through to retail light boxes in malls," Bucas said.
Tom Harrison of ScalaCanadasaid that the software gets all the way down to the financial management of digital signage. Going beyond content planning, Charting Pro can tie into a company's accounting system to track and manage payments from advertisers as well as lease payments for ad space.
"We were looking for a means to allow us to address and manage advertising on our networks," said Dick Trask, of Scala. "This software crosses all ad media, from digital signage to traditional billboards and static signage."
Trask said the acquisition will be complete at the end of March. Scala will also acquire MISC'sTorontooffice and will continue operation there as Scala Canada.
