The KFC YUM! Center is hosting NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament action. We talk digital signage with its IT director.

While the NCAA may call "First Four" play-in games the men's basketball tournament's first round, what most people think of as the first round of March Madness kicked off today in arenas around the country. One of them, the KFC YUM! Center in downtown Louisville, Ky., took DST on a tour of the facility and its digital signage before it opened to the public.

After taking DST on a far-reaching tour of the arena, Kentucky State Fair Board IT director Alicia Dunlap talked on camera about the process of planning and selecting the facility's digital signage adornments.

The KSFB operates the YUM! Center, and Dunlap said then that she did extensive due diligence before slecting which digital signage systems to deploy in the arena, checking out other arena and stadium projects around the country and, perhaps even more importantly, talking to other IT directors and project managers who'd previously been in her shoes.

Dunlap also offered pointers and advice for project admins heading up new digital signage projects going forward, and one key piece of advice for potential digital signage vendors.

Since it's March Madness time again and hoops fans across the country are playing hooky from work to watch the games, we felt now was a good time to revisit the YUM! Center and allow Dunlap to once again give some veteran advice to potential new deployers.
