X2O showcasing new digital signage at CEW14

A new version of its HTML5-based platform and an interactive retail channel highlight the offerings at this year's Customer Engagement World.

November 6, 2014

Visual communications provider X2O Media is showcasing its digital signage solutions at this year's Customer Engagement World 2014 in New York City:

  • A new version of the HTML5-based X2O platform - On display for the first time, X2O platform version 5.5 streamlines the content management workflow. This latest release is designed to simplify the creation and management of media-rich channels for playout on any screen, including digital signage displays, video walls, tablets and smartphones. Drag-and-drop tools let users create channels from HD video, still images, 3D animations, PowerPoint slides and more. Linking to internal and external data sources has been simplified, enabling users to incorporate data-driven graphics linked to corporate databases such as SAP, Excel spreadsheets or RSS feeds. The platform's X2O player supports HTML5 and is able to deliver broadcast-quality content in real time to all screen types, the company said.
  • Interactive retail channel - At CEW 2014, X2O Media will highlight interactive visual communications solutions that enable retailers to engage customers effectively while enhancing their overall experience, the company said. Designed to be ideal for retail, banking and health care settings, the company's X2O Remote Video Expert application allows instant video conferencing between customers and specialized customer service agents directly from interactive displays. To enable a more customized shopping experience, the application also includes RFID interactivity, whereby a customer picking up an item triggers the on-screen content to change to that product automatically and invites the customer to interact with the screen for more information. In addition, audience detection and measurement capabilities can provide targeted delivery of content as well as measurable results for ROI. Finally, customers can take product information with them by scanning an on-screen QR code with their smartphone. Using touchscreens placed in strategic locations throughout a store, for instance, customers can obtain detailed product information, locate merchandise on a map, browse store ads, perform price checks, consult store websites, and read ratings on products of interest. When further information is required, users can instantly have a live conversation with a customer service agent via X2O Remote Video Expert — enabling two-way interactions directly from the product aisle.
  • Social media on the X2O platform - The X2O platform allows users to harness the power of social media by displaying user-generated content from popular sites such as Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. An updated version of X2O's Social Media Wall showing live event feedback from the social sphere will be on display in booth 339.
