The Casper, Wyoming, Planning and Zoning Commission is considering regulations to LED digital signage and billboards, according to the Casper Star Tribune.

"These signs have more capabilities than they used to, and we have some permits coming up ... We realized the present statutes we have that we work off for judging signs, etc., [were] really inadequate," Commission Vice Chairman James Holloway said in the Star Tribune article.

The commission is reaching out to both sign companies and their customers to help formulate the regulations he said. It also reached out to the public through a survey, with about 600 people responding. And, according to Holloway, people by and large weren't overly concerned about the digital signs distracting drivers or turning Casper into Las Vegas.

The planning board will officially consider the sign ordinance at its next regular meeting on Sept. 23.
