Arizona's Wigwam Golf Resort has signed on with Digital Caddies Inc., a provider of on-course technology services and digital signage content to golfers, according to an announcement from Digital Caddies.
"With three 18-hole championship courses, two of which are Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designs, the Wigwam will be a great addition to our network," said Tim Greenwell, vice president of sales for Digital Caddies, in the announcement. "Starting next week, golfers at the historic Wigwam Golf Resort will enjoy accurate GPS distance measuring, improved communication with the clubhouse and be entertained by relevant, interactive content. We are very excited to be the technology partner of choice for the Wigwam Golf Resort."
According to the announcement, Digital Caddies currently has more than 11,000 interactive screens installed on more than 150 courses in the top 20 DMAs across the country, with new screens coming online daily.
Its network provides access to golfers via an interactive tablet mounted in golf carts, serving up content from course operators and advertisers aimed at engaging golfers. Digital Caddies' touchscreen tablets also offer golfers a variety of useful applications and services, including GPS-based course navigation and aerial fairway and green views with accurate yardages to landmarks.
Leo Simonetta, director of golf for the Wigwam, said, "We continually look for opportunities to distinguish the Wigwam in the competitive Phoenix golf marketplace, and we believe Digital Caddies' interactive screens will do just that. This new technology will enhance the golf experience for our guests, while allowing the Wigwam to promote products and services available at the resort, driving food, beverage and merchandise sales."
