Visible Spectrum Inc., which provides a Web-based cloud platform for creating custom HD video for digital platforms such as digital signage, is developing new user interfaces for its VSI Digital Media Cloud.
According to a news release, the Burr Ridge, Ill.-based company, which formed in 2011, plans a summer 2013 rollout of the interfaces, which will automate video ad production for small- and medium-sized businesses through a combination of expert systems and Web scraping.
Users who enter their business name will see a selection of video ads for their business, with stock assets that directly pertain to the product line already added. Users will then be able to tweak the auto-created ads.
The new initiative will be directed by Mike Berning, who recently joined VSI as director of new projects, in tandem with company co-founder and computer scientist Terry Disz.
Berning was most recently operations manager for Context Media, which operates place-based networks in medical offices. Berning, who is trained in motion graphics, has also held senior creative positions at Adelstein/Liston and FCB.
The company said its current interface and platform have helped create nearly 20,000 videos, largely by end-users with no graphic design experience. Anyone with an Internet connection and Flash 11.0 can use VSI's tool at www.visiblespectrum.com. There is no cost unless the user opts to take delivery of the finished composition.
