Velocity, a managed services company for connectivity, network management and DOOH, has acquired Impax Media Inc., a grocery store digital signage advertising network. With this acquisition, Velocity will expand into the retail sector, according to a press release.
Impax Media provides digital signage advertising to shoppers at checkout aisles in 49 grocery stores in the New York City area, according to the release.
"Impax Media programing includes grocer messaging, in-store sales, entertainment and advertising. Velocity is partnering with Screenvision Media, a national leader in cinema and premium video advertising, to serve as a strategic seller of Impax's ad inventory," Greg Kiley, founder and CEO, Velocity, said in the release. "Impax is the latest addition to 'Front + Center Everywhere,' Screenvision's expanding OOH network, that is designed to reach the highly engaged consumer beyond the cinema experience."
