Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, was selected by California State University Fullerton to provide two double-sided digital street furniture displays on its campus in Fullerton, California, according to a press release from Daktronics.
Daktronics completed installation in May and the displays are currently sharing university messages with students and community members.
"We are excited that we partnered with Daktronics to install two new digital street furniture displays on campus," said Aaron Tapper, assistant director of athletics and marketing at Fullerton. "The signs will provide another opportunity to keep our faculty, staff, students and visitors informed of current athletic news and events. In addition, they will provide a new revenue stream for the athletic department by providing our corporate sponsor a way to directly advertise to our campus community."
The eye-level LED video displays each measure just more than 5 feet high by 4 feet wide and feature 6-mm line spacing for clear imagery at close viewing distances, the release said. These displays can be used to promote campus events, show emergency information and show advertising and sponsorship messages to passersby. Being double sided allows the application to appeal to traffic moving in both directions as students and fans arrive at the venue and leave after the event is over.
"It's exciting to extend our partnership with Cal State Fullerton Athletics to install these displays on campus," said Robin Hall, regional manager for Daktronics. "These innovative displays will be the first in California used to promote an athletics program on campus, and will provide great benefit to Cal State Fullerton Athletics and their sponsors."
