Parabit Systems, a Long Island-based manufacturer of custom enclosures, self-service solutions and security products, announced it has recently completed the first phase of renovating and retrofitting new digital signage flight information display screens and enclosures in Terminal 1 at JFK InternationalAirport in New York. Parabit has designed and installed both three-screen and four-screen FIDs on a total of eight columns, for 28 screens altogether, the company said.

Parabit said it has provided Terminal One Group, which handles all operations at Terminal 1 in JFK, with a total solution: design, custom enclosures and software that was retro-fitted into the terminal's existing architecture. The result is new FIDs that "look like they came with the original architecture," according to Terminal One Group's IT director. According to the announcement, the Group's goal was to find a total solution that would work seamlessly with its existing IT infrastructure, as well as the unique architecture of the terminal.

Terminal One Group is currently adding additional Parabit FIDs to all remaining columns and expanding into other areas of the terminal. The companies are surveying additional projects that will expand Parabit's eTract digital signage software and display enclosures into other areas of Terminal 1, the announcement said.
