Surf's up for digital signage at ISE16

Digital signage supplier Signagelive is set to showcase its solutions in a variety of 'real-world' settings, including a surf shop, at ISE 2016 in Amsterdam.

Signagelive, global supplier of cloud-based digital signage technology, announced it is incorporating near field communications tags and Beacon technology into its system-on-chip software, enabling end-customers to run interactive digital signage applications on a range of non PC devices. Full details will be revealed at Integrated Systems Europe taking place February 9-12 in Amsterdam, the company said.

Signagelive's booth has been designed to represent a variety of real-world user scenarios, including retail, quick-service restaurant and corporate communications, to demonstrate how customers can use Signagelive's cloud-based software platform to take static signage applications into the interactive world, delivering powerful and engaging digital signage experiences to their end customers.

Using Signagelive, applications such as emergency messaging, triggered live TV and assistive point of sale can be created in a cloud environment. These are designed in HMTL5 for SoC technologies, eliminating the need for onsite media players and providing a single management interface for both standard and interactive digital signage applications, the company said.

The retail zone will feature an array of smart displays in different configuration formats, orientations and sizes. Signagelive said it will demonstrate how its assisted PoS application can be used to create an enhanced retail experience for customers to encourage brand loyalty and increase sales.

The QSR zone will comprise a series of interactive menu boards that can be updated and managed in real time via mobile devices. In the corporate zone, Signagelive will demonstrate how large enterprises can use its multi-zoning capabilities to display corporate news, live TV, social media content and ticker feeds on smart signage displays to improve internal communications.

"Mobile and Internet technologies are rapidly evolving and merging, and as a result we are seeing the development of innovative Apps to increase user engagement," CEO Jason Cremins said in the announcement. "To maintain our position as a top supplier of digital signage technology we must ensure our platform seamlessly interfaces with near field communications and location based technologies, and our stand at ISE will clearly demonstrate how we are achieving this through a variety of real world examples."

Signagelive said its cloud-based software platform is written in HTML5 and provides full support for different content formats including static images, HD video, Web pages, IPTV, multi-zoning for different media types, image layering, RSS feeds, portrait support and screen on and off control. It also features optional proof of content and delivery functionality for better network and campaign management.

Signagelive also will be demonstrating its cloud-based digital signage platform and support for a wide range of media playback technologies on a number of partner booths, including Samsung and LG.
