StereoVision set to acquire facial recognition company Digital Signal

StereoVision Imaging Inc., a 3-D facial recognition solution provider, has begun the process of acquiring Digital Signal Corp, a provider of LIDAR-based facial recognition technology. The company will use its financing from a provider of structured debt products to acquire Digital Signal, according to a press release.

Digital Signal offers a variety of facial intelligent solutions, which incorporate monitoring, identiy analytics and LIDAR-based sensors.

"We are thrilled to have access to Digital Signal's groundbreaking LIDAR technology which will enable us to expand our Identity Intelligence solutions for law enforcement, homeland security, military and other public safety applications," Greg Steinthal, founder and president of SVI, said in the release. "The LIDAR-based 3D facial recognition technology which we have acquired from Digital Signal provides extremely accurate, real time facial recognition, capable of identifying non-cooperative individuals or 'faces-in-a-crowd' at extended ranges."
