Hussey Seating, a 180-year-old, sixth-generation family-owned seating solutions company, has commissioned Mvix to provide a digital signage solution to enhance employee engagement, Mvix has announced.
According to Mvix, Hussey Seating was founded on the principle of understanding its customers' unique challenges and empowering its employees to develop solutions to meet the customer's seating needs.
"We recently had a sit-down with our employees, to discuss ways in which we can enhance communication," said Ron Bilodeau, Hussey Seating's marketing and product manager, in the announcement. "Our employees, especially those without ready access to email, said they wanted to know more about current developments within the company. We listened and started looking into implementing digital signage."
According to Mvix, communications, whether it be sales data, performance statistics or just company news, is a common theme for companies with high levels of engagement. Gallup demonstrated that companies with high engagement outperform competitors by more than 20 percent in productivity and profitability, while maintaining lower levels of absenteeism, turnover and other negative metrics, the announcement said. So an engaged workforce directly impacts the bottom line, Mvix said.
Digital signage is the most cost-effective vehicle for employee communication throughout a single location or across a global network, the company said. It increases engagement by allowing employees to feel like they're "in the know" and up to date with what's happening in the company. Communicating goals and company news creates a strong connection between workers and the company's mission, which in turn improves business productivity. Companies can also use digital signage to train employees, and publicly recognize performance and milestones. It's also a great medium for sharing internal metrics and keeping track of production, sales and internal analytics, the company said. By measuring their performance with the right business metrics, employees can self-evaluate and make instant changes where needed.
"Digital signage also provides the flexibility to quickly share messages that grab our employees' attention and increase awareness," Bilodeau said. "It is helping us cut through the clutter from competing sources such as emails, texts and social media."
Mvix's solution supports HTML5 media playback, playlist and template management, comprehensive scheduling options and a multirole user management, the announcement said.
