Scala Inc., a provider of digital retail experiences, announced it will be featured in six partner booths, including a presentation on messaging optimization in Google's booth, at Digital Signage Expo 2016 this week in Las Vegas.

Scala said its platform connects digital signage, beacons, kiosks, mobile applications and devices to help marketers deliver engaging, interactive experiences tailored specifically to their audience or even to a specific person. Scala's partners are highlighting their digital innovations with solutions built on the Scala platform at DSE.

Scala CEO Tom Nix also is moderating a session with speaker Steve Parris, Swarovski global senior retail innovation manager, about how technology is redefining the retail store during the Platt Retail Institute's pre-show Digital Retail Forum. The session, being held on Tuesday, March 15, at 3 p.m., will include exploring how to "develop innovative solutions, and find inspiration that works today and builds a foundation for the future of your customers' experiences."

Scala solutions in its partner booths will include:

  • Sharp – With Scala's Connected Café solution, customers will be able to take a selfie when sending in an order for gourmet coffee on a self-service tablet. When the coffee is ready, the customer's picture appears on the Sharp video wall, featuring an ultra-slim bezel for seamless display. Also demonstrated will be Scala's real-time insight reporting, allowing for screen content optimization including pricing and promotions.
  • LG Electronics – In the Lift & Learn solution, customers are enticed to lift the latest in mobile phone technology from a high-end fixture, integrated with antitheft technology. LED display screens as well as the screens on the phones are triggered to dynamically update, showing extensive details on the product. When a second item is lifted, the display updates again to help the customer compare.
  • Google – Scala SVP/GM Dan McAllister will present "Tipping the Scalability: Using Actionable Data for Optimized Digital Experiences," on Wednesday, March 16, at 2:30 p.m. The presentation includes how digital solutions can apply real-time data to measure what resonates with audiences and take action to optimize the content.
  • Panasonic – Panasonic's AF1 adaptable and flexible full-HD LED display solution, newly Scala-certified, features high-end retail-focused content created and powered by Scala.
  • Crimson AV – Scala's platform will drive a three-by-one digital menu board display featuring Crimson's mounts that are designed to be easy to install and can be used for landscape or portrait display.
  • Actineon – In another example of the Lift & Learn solution, shoppers lift an item from the shelf, and the display screens, powered by Actineon small-form-factor computers, automatically update to show detailed information on the product, compression socks from high-end athletic apparel retailer 2XU. When a second item is lifted, the display updates again to help the customer comparison shop. The fixtures and screen content are fully customizable to fit any product where the customer is comparing features.
