Allure Global Solutions Inc. recently announced that it has completed a new digital signage deployment for the San Diego Sports Arena.
The deployment is part of a larger renovation of the facility that includes new arena seating, a totally renovated and rebranded club space and other physical improvements.
The San Diego Sports Arena is a top regional facility that provides a range of premium entertainment to more than 600,000 people each year. According to Pollstar and Billboard Magazines in 2009, the San Diego Sports Arena was rated as one of the "Top 10 Facilities in the World with 10,001 to 15,000 seats." The arena is managed by AEG Facilities. AEG Facilities operates or consults with more than 90 of the industry's preeminent venues worldwide.
The digital signage solution includes 60 Sharp 42-inch, thin bezel LCD screens. Twenty-eight screens are located at the four entrances, with the remainder mounted throughout the interior walkways and club.
Allure Global provided its Allure 4.0 software, players, content development and all project management for this initiative, which included an animated welcome message, animated sponsor messaging and a programmable messaging component so that arena personnel can easily modify the event calendar showing future events with animated content. For the welcome message and messaging promoting Club 3500, Allure Global's internal creative staff used a technique called Interruptive Marketing. This technique allows for one singular animated message to display on multiple screens, making its visual impact much greater and more noticeable.
"We are very excited about our new digital signage network," said Ernie Hahn II, senior vice president and general manager of the arena. "We view this network as our internal marketing communications system. By adding digital content from our sponsors, event promoters and advertisers as well as other relevant messaging for our patrons, we feel that this network, along with all our other improvements, has substantially modernized our facility and provided us with a unique marketing communications component. We view digital signage as a real game changer and are pleased to have this technology in the building."
