Pittsburgh Steelers upgrade Heinz Field with LED video display

Aug. 10, 2017

The Pittsburgh Steelers recently partnered with Daktronics to deploy an LED video display at the south end of Heinz Field. The display will offer an HD-pixel layout and is 45 percent larger than the previous display, according to a press release.

The display is 41 feet high by 123.5 feet wide and can produce 281 trillion colors. It is also designed with variable content zoning so the field can show different content in different sections of the display such as instant replays, sponsorship messages and scores.

"We greatly value our long-standing partnership with Heinz Field and the Pittsburgh Steelers and are looking forward to continuing our relationship through this upcoming renovation," Reece Kurtenbach, CEO of Daktronics, said in the release. "We are focused on providing the best solutions for our customers at every level of competition and are proud to be installing this LED display for professional football fans in Pittsburgh for the upcoming season."
