PGA National Resort in Florida has started deploying golf cart-mounted digital signage at the first of its five golf courses, according to an announcement from Digital Caddies Inc., a provider of on-course technology services and content to golfers.
Digital Caddies has installed its golf cart-mounted 10-inch tablet solution at PGA National. The tablets connect wirelessly to the Web through Sprint’s nationwide wireless network and provide golf courses a broad portfolio of real-time course management tools via GPS-based golf cart tracking and communications, the company said. The Digital Caddies platform is intended to enable course operators to improve the golfer experience, manage pace of play and increase merchandise and concession sales via real-time promotions, according to the announcement.
“We are honored to add such an iconic brand to our client list," Digital Caddies President Mike Loustalot said in the announcement. "PGA National Resort is synonymous with high-quality, championship golf and is recognized around the world as a premier golf destination. The five courses at PGA National Resort are among the finest in Florida and have hosted many defining moments in golf history. We look forward to a prosperous and lasting partnership with PGA National Resort.”
And Jane Broderick, director of golf operations for PGA National, said her resort is "excited" to offer the platform to its guests. "The installation of the Digital Caddies tablets has been an overwhelming success," she said in the announcement. "Feedback from every player, member and resort guest alike has been positive. The visibility and functionality is superb, and the installation process was flawless.”
