NYC landmark updates with digital signage video wall

August 4, 2014

The Starrett-Lehigh Building in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood recently got a new tenant, a digital signage video wall installation in the lobby.

The digital signage video wall, built by Interactive Touchscreen Solutions Inc. using Navigo Digital Signage, transforms the building lobby from a blank canvas of empty space into an appealing focal point, according to the project announcement from ITS.

With the addition of 80-inch LED screens, the space now serves as a customized information solution that offers a variety of news, features and announcements for tenants and visitors, the company said.

The video wall is part of a large rollout at the site using ITS's various Navigo solutions. The facility installed the Navigo Touchscreen Directories and Active Signage displays on each floor and in high-traffic areas such as elevator lobbies and in the fitness room.

"This facility is home to a variety of tenants with different needs," Natalie Bobila, ITS vice president of sales and marketing, said in the announcement. "Working with RXR (the property owners and managers) we've been able to match their needs with our various digital sign solutions."

ITS said it has worked with RXR Realty to install touchscreen directories at their properties in New York City and New Jersey.

"Digital signage is the most cost effective way to communicate with tenants, visitors and staff," Bobila said. "Property managers of all kinds — large buildings, small buildings, commercial, retail, health care and education — are exploring the options that best suit their facility needs and improve the property appeal."
