Clear Channel Airports, a division of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, has installed four 26-foot LED video towers at Denver International Airport.
According to DenverPost.com, the towers are the largest digital displays and the only curved LED screens in any U.S. airport.
The towers are in the airport’s main Jeppesen Terminal, and will broadcast to a captive audience — they’re located near the security lines. With more than 50 million people passing through security each year, the web site said, the installations are expected to generate $95 million in revenue over a 10-year agreement.
The airport is in the middle of a larger technology upgrade that calls for installing more than 118 LCD screens throughout the terminal and concourses. Several 70-inch freestanding LCDs will be located throughout the terminal’s top floor, with six large video panels hanging overhead throughout the three concourses.
According to DenverPost, the digital platform allows more than one advertiser in each physical space. For example, the video tower ads are on a one-minute loop, which will allow six companies or organizations to advertise in a 10-second slot. Each 10-second spot sells for about $32,000 for a month-long placement.
