Videotel Inc. recently introduced a new solution to help museums turn exhibits into an interactive experience for their visitors.
Videotel's HD2600 industrial DVD player or the VP71 industrial media player with its new interplay module (IPM) or interplay harness (IPH) can be implemented as an interactive digital signage solution into museum exhibits, according to the press release. Whether it's used on video walls, kiosks or HD televisions throughout the museum, this solution provides 24/7 auto-looping educational video content with the option for the audience to trigger various content with the touch of an illuminated button or by waving a hand over a proximity sensor.
The VP71 supports RS232 with a communication-ready port, allowing users to play videos at certain times of the day which is ideal for educational cinemas or scheduled exhibits, according to the press release. Videotel also now offers custom design work for interactive video kiosks.
"Today's museum visitors are looking for differentiation," Lisa Schneider, Videotel's vice president of global sales and market strategy, said in a press release. "Competition for high tech entertainment is so important. And for museums wanting to engage their visitors, an interactive experience should be easy and cost effective to implement. The combination of the VP71 or HD2600 with an IPM or an IPH creates the ultimate hands-off plug-and-play interactive digital signage solution for any museum."
