JohnRyan, a provider of total-store messaging systems for retailers and banks, has announced the launch of its Silicon Valley Development Center, aimed at developing signage and mobile solutions for banks and retailers. The Development Center will lead the company's roadmap, as well as all day-to-day product enhancement and QA functions, the company said.
"We deliberately set out to locate in the global center for new media innovation," company owner John C. Ryan said in the announcement. "Rather than a traditional A/V orientation, our development team is focused on cross-platform solutions critical for our clients to achieve consistency across a growing number of virtual communications channels."
The center is led by Joe Donovan, formerly the head of engineering for Yahoo News and Weather. "I'm really happy with the team we've built in our new development center. It's a great group of Silicon Valley veterans, many of whom I've worked with in the past," Donovan said. "They really understand what's possible when battle-tested digital signage products are combined with open Web standards, increasingly powerful tablet and mobile devices and cloud infrastructure."
