Ireland airport rolls out digital signage

Ireland West Airport Knock, an airport in County Mayo, Ireland, recently installed a digital signage network with Ion Solutions, an Irish A/V company. Ion Solutions provided 25 flight information display screen monitors and eight 55-inch Christie displays, according to a report by the Connaught Telegraph.

The airport deployed the displays in the baggage collection areas, arrival area, departure lounges, boarding gates and security areas. Ion Solutions also upgraded all existing digital signage at the airport from standard to high definition, and it deployed a Christie video wall made of four 55-inch displays.

The displays shares content such as departures, gate numbers, delays and arrivals.

"We're delighted that Ireland West Airport selected Ion Solutions to provide their new digital signage network. The system had to meet a number of critical requirements, most notably that the displays would be able to provide information to travelers as clearly as possible. We're very much looking forward to working with Ireland West Airport again in the future," Adrian Back, systems specialist, Ion Solutions, said in the report.
