InfoValue Computing Inc. this week announced the latest integration of digital signage with its IPTV platform. The company said in a press release the integration significantly simplifies management, while simultaneously increasing the cost-effectiveness of operating both an IPTV and digital signage system.
InfoValue said the integration allows IPTV systems to incorporate personalized and targeted digital signage in hotel guestrooms, hospital patient beds, retail locations and other areas, according to the announcement. For example, a guest attending a convention could see a mosaic screen on a guestroom TV showing convention highlight videos, conference schedules, and promotions along with a personalized greeting. Furthermore, digital signage displays in public areas can incorporate dynamic content from a vast IPTV content library.
"The integrated system is much more powerful and yet much easier and less expensive to operate," said Dr. Monsong Chen, president and CEO at InfoValue. "We think customers will be excited to have the flexibility to mix and match digital signage features and IPTV functions, which are usually separate."
InfoValue said the integration enables digital signage to reach all InfoValue IPTV end-points, including smart TVs, TVs with set-top boxes, desktop and mobile devices and leverage all InfoValue IPTV features, such as interactive multimedia information and service portal, video-on demand, TV channel and Electronic Program Guide, time-shift TV and network personal video recorder.
