Indoor navigation, digital wayfinding to enhance patient experience at Wisconsin hospital

Connexient, a provider of indoor mapping, navigation and location-based services for hospitals and health care networks, announced that its MediNav Navigator edition 2.0 has been selected by Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin health network in Milwaukee. The MediNav system will provide indoor maps, turn-by-turn indoor navigation and patient flow analytics to enhance the patient experience, reduce the incidence of missed or late appointments and improve operational efficiency, according to a press release from Connexient. The MediNav system will be deployed at Froedtert Hospital, the health network's academic medical center hospital.

Powered by Bluetooth low energy beacons and handset sensor fusion technology, theMediNav Navigator v. 2.0 is the most advanced indoor navigation solution available for hospitals, according to Connexient. Features include:

• true turn-by-turn indoor navigation — reliable indoor positioning accuracy of one to two meters, navigation cues, visual landmark references, off-route notification and more;
• parking planner and My Car saver — features that navigate users to the best parking location based on their appointment location inside the facility and that save the car's parking location making it easier to find when they are ready to leave;
