Indianapolis sports bar partners with LG for 4K digital signage

The District Tap sports bar in Indianapolis has deployed a 4K IP video distribution system, from LG Business Solutions, for its new downtown location. Integrator Millennium Sounds selected LG's Mediatune solution to power 38 LG UU670H-series 4K Smart TVs and private 24-inch LG TVs in booths alongside LG's Pro:Idiom and Pro:Centric applications, according to a press release.

Mediatune delivers multicast streams to as many sources as needed, so the sports bar can instantly change the source on all the TVs at once.

"Controlling multiple TVs with different sources can be a nightmare for staff, so The District Tap decided it was worth investing in an easier, faster, better solution," Brent Drescher, manager at the downtown District Tap, said in the release. "That solution is Mediatune, and it's turned the TV system into a much less demanding part of our jobs. We can turn all the TVs on and off at once,change the channel on a dozen TVs at once if we want, and have full access to all 38 TVs at a moment's notice to respond to customers. It's made a world of difference."

In addition to the TVs, the bar also deployed LGSTB550 set top boxes with Pro:Idiom software to control projectors and a video wall.
