IAdea, RevelDigital team to launch integrated Android digital signage system

October 4, 2013

Cloud-based digital signage platform provider RevelDigital and commercial-grade digital signage player and integrated display provider IAdea have collaborated on, and are now jointly launching, an integrated Android digital signage system, according to an announcement from the companies.

RevelDigital's platform delivers not only content but a complete infrastructure to support network operation, managing multiple aspects of a digital signage deployment including content creation, scheduling, reporting and hardware monitoring, according to the announcement.

IAdea specializes in providing hardened, Android-based digital signage media players and digital signboards optimized for displaying digital signage content based on open standards, the company said. Its hardware features include dedicated solid-state storage and a watchdog timer, along with advanced features like GPIO triggering, motion sensors and power-over-Ethernet.

"We are happy to see RevelDigital making a great Android-based digital signage solution with IAdea technology," Rex Chen, EVP of IAdea, said in the announcement.

Customers can now order a special configuration from IAdea that includes RevelDigital software preloaded as part of the system firmware. This allows the software to perform advanced functionalities that require system privileges and adds extra protection to keep software from being removed during system resets, the announcement said.
