Crestron is now shipping its HD Scaling Presentation Switcher & Extender, or HD-MD-400-C-E. Winner of two Best of Show awards at InfoComm 2016, the HD-MD-400-C-E is an HDMI switcher and extender pair that delivers "plug-in and present" functionality, according to a company press release. Crestron's AVFramework Hub, or CEN-AVF-FUB, provides a bridge between the Crestron Fusion Cloud enterprise management service and up to 15 HD-MD-400-C-E, enabling remote deployment and management over the network.
The proliferation of huddle rooms, huddle spaces and small meeting rooms across the AV enterprise has driven the need for a simple, low-cost multimedia presentation solution that can be easily deployed and managed on the network, the release said. Composed of a compact 4X1 auto-switcher and extender pair, the HD-MD-400-C-E provides signal extension up to 230 feet, a built-in scaler to provide optimal image display of a range of digital and analog signals, automatic switching for HD resolutions up to 2K, display control, and Ethernet connectivity.
The transmitter, which can be mounted under a table or inside a podium for easy connection to laptops, mobile devices and other media sources, features HDMI, VGA and analog audio inputs. The receiver, mounted behind the room display or above a projector, includes an additional HDMI input for connection to a Crestron AirMedia presentation gateway, enabling wireless BYOD presentation capability. Installation can be completed in a few minutes, with no custom programming needed, the release said.
Integrators connect the LAN port on the receiver to the Ethernet network for setup and configuration via a Web browser. Essential controls and status indicators are also provided on each unit for easy testing and troubleshooting without a computer during installation.
