The Myrtle Beach Pelicans opening day event April 14 served as the debut of 4,100 square feet of LED video displays at the baseball team's Pelican Ballpark.

The LED video upgrade was installed by GoVision LLC, a provider of large-scale LED video solutions based in Texas, according to a press release.

The project is part of a broader $20 million offseason renovation aimed at elevating the facility to best-in-class status and meeting the professional development league standards of Major League Baseball.

The LED installations provide more than seven times the park's previous video square footage.

Anchoring the upgrade is a 10mm ultra-high-definition LED videoboard in right-center field, measuring 29.53 feet high by 75.46 feet wide.

Complementing the main board are three additional outfield ribbon displays, also constructed with high-resolution 10mm LED tiles. The left-field and right-center ribbon boards each measure 6.56 feet high by 101.71 feet wide, while the right-field ribbon spans 6.56 feet high by 82.02 feet wide. Collectively, the four LED displays feature more than 3.5 million pixels.

"Everyone at GoVision is passionate about baseball, so projects like this are especially meaningful to us," Chris Curtis, founder and chairman of GoVision, said in the release. "These new displays will completely transform how fans experience Pelicans games. They're larger, brighter and more vivid than what you typically see at the Single-A level, and they give the club incredible creative freedom on game day."

"When we began planning this renovation, our goal was clear: to make Pelicans Ballpark the crown jewel of Single-A Baseball," Chuck Greenberg, chairman and managing partner of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. "That meant investing in the very best video technology available and partnering with the top LED provider in the industry. GoVision delivered on every level."
