Looking for a digital signage solution for guided stadium tours, the reigning German soccer champion Borussia Dortmund has turned to kompas software by dimedis, according to a company release.
According to the release, the club will place 20 displays at key locations within its stadium, which will be controllable via remote to show anything from general photo and video loops to more specific, individual content during tours. The signs will combine static elements such as photos and videos with dynamic content including Twitter feeds, weather news and public transport timetables, in an effort to tells the club's story in a more visual and emotional way.
"We chose kompas because it is intuitive to use and based on Web technologies," BVB stadium and event manager Philip Hartmanis said in the release. "It doesn't require any kind of special software and can be accessed directly from the browser. The interactive features are another plus: It is easy to control via remote or even with a smartphone, which allows us to show individual content on demand."
Wilhelm Halling, the founder and managing director of Cologne, Germany-based dimedis, which specializes in trade-fair and digital signage software solutions, is enthusiastic about the partnership.
"It is a great distinction to have been selected by the reigning German soccer champion," he said. "The BVB is a very special customer. There is a great deal of potential for digital signage in a stadium environment, and we are proud to be the ones providing a solution."
The club also will use kompas to promote special offers in its fan shop, and additional kompas displays are planned for the stadium and hospitality areas.
