The Fee Hedrick Entertainment Group recently deployed digital signage to provide a fiery backdrop under a new aquarium used in its comedy shows, according to an announcement from digital signage media player provider Videotel.
Fee Hedrick recently chose Tanked to install an aquarium, and turned to Videotel to provide a streaming media player to complete the effect, the announcement said.
Fee Hedrick's technical director, Marshall Whaley, said the company was previously using a computer with a freeware player software for playback of the impressive tank's fire display. "I had to pretty up the fire effect for my boss," Whaley said in the release. "After a little help from Videotel, I was able to get the right unit and the right format."
According to Videotel, while people often think of digital signage only as an informational display with rolling text or interactive solutions as a kiosk where customers manipulate a computer display, as Fee Hedrick's technical team learned with its realistic fire display, digital signage and interactive solutions have a multitude of applications in the field.
