Drunk driving arrests posted on Minnesota digital billboards

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Traffic Safety Division recently started posting drunken driving arrest updates on digital billboards around the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul as part of "a major DWI crackdown" that runs through Labor Day, according to KARE 11 TV.

The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" program involving the Minnesota State Patrol and law enforcement agencies across the state is taking to social media and digital billboards to underscore its strong anti-DWI message, the station reported.

DPS will live-report DWI arrest activity on Twitter and post arrest updates on Twin Cities digital billboards during the evening of Aug. 16.

The updates will include age and gender of offender, location of arrest and alcohol-concentration level. Follow arrests at @MnDPS_OTS, #onelessdrunkdriver.

"There are plenty of Minnesotans who have driven drunk plenty of times and have not yet crashed and have not yet been caught," DPS Office of Traffic Safety Director Donna Berger told the station. "All it takes is one crash, one arrest to turn your world upside down. Avoid the risk and plan ahead."
