Dreamvision releases Very BEST Passive 3D Polarizer

The Dreamvision Very BEST (Bi-Efficiency Stereo Transmitter) Passive 3D polarizer is now available for purchase, according to a company press release. There is no active shuttering with the system. As a result, the perception of the 3D images is smooth, reducing the eye strain, headache or nausea that may sometimes happen during an active 3D projection. Due to the absence of embedded electronics and a battery, the 3D passive glasses are 10 times lighter than the 3D active glasses.

"Since we started proposing turn-key Passive 3D projection solutions back in 2012, including projector, polarizer, glasses, mount and screen, Dreamvision has developed a real expertise in the field of passive 3D projection and we keep on building a complete range of 3D devices based on the same technical approach," said Jean-Claude Younes, founder and CEO of Dreamvision.

Passive 3D is also a cost-effective solution, due to the lower cost of ownership of the 3D glasses. The system kit is a renewed optimized polarization modulator with higher picture clarity and the fastest switching speed on the market, the release stated. A larger, redesigned window makes it possible to watch passive 3D pictures in the true cinemascope format using an anamorphic lens.

"While we and our customers are extremely happy with the performances of the regular BEST Passive 3D solution, we have figured out that having a more powerful solution in our product portfolio would help equip some larger venues," said Frederic Valin, marketing manager of Dreamvision. "Whereas active 3D is perfect for small audiences, passive 3D technology shall be considered when there is a bigger audience and a limited budget."

The new projection system can be coupled with brighter projectors and have good light efficiency. In 3D projection, Dreamvision offers a 70-percent increase in brightness compared to traditional active-shutter glass. The new models deliver a brighter picture on larger screens.

The system kit can be tuned to obtain an optimized 3D picture. Due to its connectivity, the Very BEST graphic interface is directly accessible on its integrated touch screen or it can be controlled from the LAN or from a smartphone wirelessly using the web interface.

The Very BEST 3D Passive systems are designed for the Dreamvision Siglos+ Series, including installation with a fixed anamorphic lens. It can also accommodate any single-chip DLP or tri-Chip DLP projectors that comes with a standard VESA mini-DIN 3 or a BNC syncro output.
