Digital signage video wall selling high-rise condos in Miami

Planar Systems Inc. has announced that the developers of the Paramount Miami Worldcenter have chosen Planar's Clarity Matrix LCD Video Wall System to help market the luxury condominiums to future buyers.

Planar Systems Inc., a global provider of display and digital signage technology, announced that the developers of the Paramount Miami Worldcenter have chosen Planar's Clarity Matrix LCD Video Wall System to help market the luxury condominiums to future buyers.

According to the announcement, the Paramount tower is set to rise above the heart of Miami Worldcenter, a 30-acre mixed-use project in downtown Miami. To help sell condominiums in the 706-foot tower, the developers have combined 36 Clarity Matrix LCD video wall displays into a 323-square-foot digital signage video wall that serves as the focal point of its sales gallery. The video wall presents potential buyers with floor plans, images and high-definition video — designed to give them "a dramatic picture of what their lives would be like in these luxury residences," the company said.

"Paramount Miami Worldcenter is an environment like no other in terms of its amenities, cultural and entertainment opportunities, and even its private access to the mall below. We wanted a digital platform like Planar's Clarity Matrix Video Wall solution to help people see it to the fullest, to become excited about it, and to want to be part of it," Paramount developer Daniel Kodsi said in the announcement. "Clarity Matrix is transformational. It combines visuals that help put people in the mood to buy, so it's a very important asset for us in this highly competitive condominium market."

The developers worked with Miami-based system integration firm iHummingbird to design and install the LCD video wall solution. And according to the announcement, the integrators took full advantage of key features of the Planar system, such as its turnkey nature, light weight and ease of installation:

  • With a single order, iHummingbird received all the components for the video wall, eliminating the cost and reliability concerns of using third-party equipment.
  • Each 55-inch Clarity Matrix LCD video wall display weighs approximately 60 pounds, making the video wall solution cost-effective to mount and required lighter mounting infrastructure.
  • To install the Clarity Matrix video wall, iHummingbird used the Planar EasyAxis Mounting System, which the company said facilitated the quick and precise alignment of all Clarity Matrix displays that make up the video wall.

Clarity Matrix LCD video walls also feature an off-board electronics design that allows for power supplies and other components to be located remotely. This keeps heat-generating elements away from the video wall, minimizing the potential for heat-induced failures, the company said. And Clarity Matrix LCD video walls utilize ultra-narrow bezels that reduce the gaps between displays, the company said.

"Paramount Miami Worldcenter is certain to become a world-class destination, and we are thrilled that Clarity Matrix was chosen to bring the project to life for future residents," said Jennifer Davis, vice president of marketing and product strategy for Planar Systems. "Creative uses of the Clarity Matrix such as this demonstrate how Planar video walls can serve as effective sales tools in a broad range of environments."
