Digital signage tech startup FriendMedia Inc. announced its new HDMI pass-through and streaming entertainment feature on its newest product, the FriendMedia Player Pro.
According to the announcement, all of FriendMedia's price points and products are designed to help value-added resellers, managed service providers, resellers and integrators bring value to their services and catalog. The HDMI pass-through will display any live TV or streaming entertainment supporting both 1080p and 720p resolutions, the company said.
FriendMedia said resellers can now offer their clients "an affordable alternative to previous HDMI pass-through products available on the market today." End-users can display sports games, shows, films or any other streaming entertainment while simultaneously displaying other zones with menu boards, advertisements, promotions, social media or photos, as well as any number of engaging content formats, the company said. The beta testing program has been underway since Dec. 15, 2015, and the company said testers have commented that the CMS is "easy to use and very intuitive."
"I'm really excited to be able to introduce a world-class feature at an affordable cost that can help any VAR, MSP and integrator grow their business," FriendMedia founder and CEO Jeff Li said in the announcement.
The FriendMedia Player Pro will be available for resell starting on Feb. 1, and the company will still be offering its standard digital signage solution, the announcement said. FriendMedia is a digital signage tech startup based in Pleasanton, California, and founded in 2013.
